      '''MARRIAGE'''
'''The marriage''' of Miss Esther Margarite Williams, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Williams, of Te Aute, to Mr. Norman Alfred Avery, eldest son of the late Mr. Alfred Avery and Mrs. Avery of Havelock North took place at Te Aute last week. The bride was given away by her father, and wore a handsome gown of silver brocade and georgette with a train of silver tissue lined with pale blue. She wore a veil and orange blossoms, and carried a sheaf of arum lilies. The bride’s sister, Miss Dorothy Williams was the bridesmaid, and wore a frock of pale pink-taffeta, with touches of lavender and a black picture hat. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Alan Avery, as best man. The church had been beautifully decorated by the bride's friends and was filled with a large number of friends and relatives. After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Williams received their guests at Awarua, where afternoon tea was provided. The bride's travelling costume was a navy coat and skirt and blue toque to match.
